The Wine Brewers
" The Wine Brewers " is a garagist project, of fermentation experiments in the world of wine. The philosophy of the two winemakers (former professional brewers) is to maintain a natural but correct approach, creating wines that are outside the box but clean and not funky, playing with macerations, repassi, blends and techniques learned after having conducted thousands of fermentations in beer.
Giovanni Campari (ITA) and André Trudel (CAN) met in San Diego in 2008 during the World Beer Cup. Creative and curious brewers, they stand out in their respective countries and internationally. Their friendship is built through travels between the old and new world, they inspire each other, they create unconventional, refined and elegant beers. But when they meet they open countless bottles of wine, especially natural, dreaming of trying their hand at this field.
Giovanni and André work for 3 harvests, from 2021 to 2023 in western Liguria in Santo Stefano al Mare, in the province of Imperia. The wines they develop are all played around the Vermentino grape, declined every year in different ways, changing containers and macerations, marrying it with Pinot Noir and with ripassi of local dried grapes. They have always tried to create wines outside the box but without extremism.
