Sotol Padre de las Serpientes , the firstborn, is an artisanal sotol, distilled from Dasylirion, a succulent plant other than agave that grows spontaneously in the desert of Northern Mexico.
It is produced with an artisanal method, cooking the plants in brick ovens buried on walnut wood embers from which it takes its characteristic smoky scent. The cooked plants are then spontaneously fermented and finally distilled in copper stills heated over a live fire, fueled by wood.
Our Sotol Padre has a unique flavor, vegetal notes of green jalapeño pepper accompanied by smoky, leathery notes and an earthy finish. Sotol is the authentic spirit of the Chihuahuan desert.
Suggested use: Tommy ' s Margarita, Sotolita (Margarita with Sotol), in cocktails with tropical fruit and vegetables or drunk neat.
Fun Fact: Sotol Padre de Las Serpientes is the first Sotol produced by a European in Mexico.
